Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fans have got tired of waiting to see the character of Dayaben in the show as the actress Disha Vakani who used to play the role of Daya went on a maternity leave in 2017 and since then, she hasn’t returned to the show.
Though the producer of the show, Asit Kumarr Modi has assured fans many times that Dayaben will be back soon, more than 6 years have passed without Dayaben. While the attempts of making Disha Vakani return to the show have failed considerably, the auditions of new actresses have also taken place but nothing fruitful seems to have happened so far.
Recently, actress Munmun Dutta who plays the character of Babita ji in TMKOC gave an interview and for the first time, she opened up on Disha Vakani quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
Munmun Dutta states that she misses Disha a lot, she adds that they remember all those who have left the show including the ones who have quit TMKOC. She says that even today whenever they crack jokes, they recall what Disha used to say in this situation and how she used to change her voice when she got calls from unknown numbers.
Disha Vakani is not the only actress who has left the show, few other actors such as Gurucharan Singh, Shailesh Lodha, Jennifer Mistry, Kush Shah, Raj Anadkat, etc. have also big goodbye to TMKOC for various reasons.
Well, chances of Disha Vakani’s return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah are very bleak and it won’t be less than a miracle if she returns to the show after a very long time.
