If this update broke your heart, then must read ahead because the accident was much more severe than we can imagine and there could’ve been more deaths if the love between Hindu & Muslim community didn’t come into play.

A saint named Bhagwan Das Maharaj who was travelling in the same train reported that he along with many others was saved by Muslims in the area. If they didn’t come to help, his group could not have survived the fatal accident.

“I remember my head bumping into the seat in front of me, throwing me at least two feet forward. I was in pain and could hear screams from all directions. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for Muslims in the area who rushed to the spot and pulled us out of the train’s coach, we might not have survived.”

As per TOI report, the group of six was travelling to Haridwar to take a holy dip in Ganga.

The saint further said-

“They brought us water, khaats and arranged for a private doctor for us. We will never forget this gesture.”

Three saints from the group were injured and were rushed to Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial (LLRM) Medical College in Meerut for treatment.

Another saint, Morni Das said-

“We believe in God and we saw his power soon after the accident. There are times when people politicize Hindu-Muslim ties, but there has always been love between the two communities.”

Talking about the incident, Saint Hakim Das said-

“There were many women and children in our coach. All of us were chit-chatting and suddenly our coach overturned. Initially, we didn’t realize what had happened.”

Well, the accident was indeed tragic and devastating, but it’s a relief to see the unity among citizens during such hard time. That’s the beauty of our country called – India.
