The 64th Miss Universe Pageant that was held in Las Vegas was obviously a very nicely choreographed event, but the mistake of Steve Harvey, the host of the show ruined it all.
The 3 finalists were Olivia Jordan, Miss USA, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, Miss Philippines and Ariadna Guiterrez, Miss Columia. They were selected as top 3 from 80 contestants from all across the globe, after 3 challenging rounds.
After the completion of final round, these 3 finalists waited eagerly for the announcement of results. However, the verdict card was misread by the host. As per the card, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was the winner, Olivia Jordan was the 2nd runner up and Ariadna Guiterrez was the 1st runner-up. However, Harvey announced Ariadna Guiterrez as the winner and only after the crowning and posing session was over, the mistake was corrected. Then, the actual winner was crowned by Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega.

In some press conference, Alonzo stated that she felt quite bad for Ariadna, as she was crying. She revealed that she would talk to Miss Columbia later on for explaining her. However, the man behind all this is Steve Harvey and he did make a point to apologize.
