In it, he pretended to finally “reveal” what Rohit Sharma shouted from the pavilion when Virat Kohli reached his century in Ranchi, a moment cameras had captured in great detail as Rohit clapped passionately and appeared to shout something colorful in celebration, with Arshdeep laughing right beside him.

In a video shared by Punjab Kings, Arshdeep kept a straight face as he claimed he had received countless messages asking him to disclose Rohit’s exact words. He then delivered the punchline by quoting a line from a well-known Indian meme, insisting that this is what Rohit Sharma said. Arshdeep said, “Neeli pari, laal pari, kamre me band hai, mujhe Nadia pasand hai….”.

While fans enjoyed the joke, the intensity of Rohit Sharma’s reaction has fed into ongoing discussions about him and Virat Kohli pushing hard to remain central to India’s ODI plans. Both the players will be nearing or past 40 by the time the 2027 World Cup arrives and their withdrawal from T20Is and Tests means ODIs, domestic cricket and the IPL are the only formats they now compete in regularly.
Sections of the media have suggested that selectors are unsure whether the two legends can sustain their performances for the next three years, and that their places will depend purely on form. But for now, neither has allowed room for doubt.
