Neither Pheras Nor Nikah! How This Hindu-Muslim Couple Celebrated Wedding Is Making Internet Crazy

Marriage is the most beautiful bond and ultimate constitution which unites two souls forever; however, a number of difficulties in the name of cast, religion, status, etc. create an obstacle, especially in love marriages, due to which love birds are forced to part ways.

Here one thing can be said without any fear of contradiction that the love relationship between a Hindu and a Muslim is one of the most complicated situations and somewhere in their conscience, they also know that there are very less chances of their living life together. It’s a big taboo in the society, thanks to ever increasing tension between both the religions.

But this is not the fate of lovely relationship of Junaid Shaikh and Garima Joshi. The duo never gave up or lost hope and eventually proved that love has the power to conquer hate and the proof is their blissful marriage which took place in Dubai.

They studied in Pune from the same university and Junaid was Garima’s senior. After few years, they met in Dubai where they were pursuing masters and meanwhile, developed special feelings for one another.

It was natural for their parents not to accept their relation quite early but they were determined and not in the mood to back out. Finally, their parents had to surrender and give their approval for the marriage.

In the words of Junaid,

“We never thought our relationship could work out. We knew the day we started dating that our relationship came with a full stop.”

After getting approval from their families, they started making plans for their dream day and quite amazingly, their wedding ceremony included neither nikah nor pheras. It must have puzzled you and you must be wondering that if neither of these two, then what? Well, they just made a grand celebration of their union, cultures and above all, love.

Junaid further said,

“We’re not doing a nikah, we’re not doing pheras. We are just having a celebration. It’s a celebration of two cultures and two families. This is the best day of my life.”
