India’s huge win over Pakistan at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 didn’t just dominate headlines for the scoreline, it also triggered a wave of memes and online reactions.

After India’s comprehensive victory in Colombo, much of the chatter on social media centred around Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha and his post-match interview. Disappointed by his team’s performance, Salman Ali Agha spoke to Zimbabwean commentator Pommie Mbangwa after the game.

During the conversation, he was asked to analyse Pakistan’s poor outing with both bat and ball. While trying to explain what went wrong, Salman Ali Agha appeared to struggle to find the right words in English, pausing repeatedly and beginning his answer with a hesitant “O we, O we”. The moment quickly caught the attention of Indian fans online, who turned it into memes and jokes late into the night.

In his response, Salman Ali Agha essentially said the team had trusted their spinners who had been performing well in recent months but they had an off day. He also admitted that execution was lacking in key phases of the match. Speaking about the batting, he pointed out that losing multiple wickets early in the powerplay made it very difficult to recover in a T20 game.

Despite the defeat, Salman Ali Agha continued to back his spinners, saying they were capable of bouncing back after failing to make the most of helpful conditions. He also defended the batting unit, even though Pakistan were bowled out for just 114 after India had posted 175/7 on a dry surface.

While the skipper looked visibly upset about the loss, it was the awkward phrasing in his interview that became the talking point online. Many Indian fans focused on that moment rather than the actual match, turning it into a viral trend.

The defeat marked one of Pakistan’s poorest performances against India in recent times, especially after the closer contests between the two sides during the Asia Cup 2025.

Now, the pressure is firmly on Salman Ali Agha and his team. Pakistan are set to play a crucial do-or-die match against Namibia on February 18. Another defeat could knock them out of the tournament, especially with the USA ahead on net run rate in a potential four-point tie.
