With changing time, the meaning of relationships also seems to have changed drastically. Considering the horrible incidents which are taking place every now and then and have ashamed humanity, it won’t be wrong to say that the world is moving towards the doomsday. Recently, we got to know how a Russian couple tortured their own daughter sexually and now this incident will shock you further.
A British Pakistani named Mujahid Arshid (33), who is a builder by profession, kidnapped and raped his 20-yr Indian niece named Celine Dookhran and a 21-yr girl. Then he murdered his niece and hid her body in a freezer but luckily, the other girl escaped and alerted the police.
Celine was a British Indian while the identity of the other girl has not been revealed due to legal reasons. Mujahid committed the crime with the help of his employee Vincent Tappu (28) who lives in Ealing.
The prosecution said that Mujahid was sexually obsessed with both the girls but they were having affairs with other men. He felt that it is impossible for him to have them in his life so he wanted to kill them because “If he couldn’t have her, nobody else would”.
Dookhran’s mother is a British Indian and her original father is a Carribean Indian but later, they both got divorced and her mother married a Pakistani.
On Thursday, the Old Bailey (The Central Criminal Court of England and Wales) heard how Mujahid and Tappu kidnapped the two girls from Southwest London. The girls were kidnapped on July 19, 2017, with their mouths stuffed with socks, their hands and feet were tied together and they were wrapped in the builder’s dustsheet. With the help of Tappu, Mujahid put them in his pickup truck and took them to a detached six-bedroom property near Kingston.
Mujahid was given keys of the property as the owner told him to do some building work there. Property was unoccupied and Mujahid took the girls there as he was sure that nobody would come.
The prosecution told the court that just two days before kidnapping the girls, Mujahid fixed a chest-high deep freezer in the kitchen of the premises. It was done in order to stop the smell of decomposing bodies from spreading. After taking them inside, he tied both of them with the pipes in utility room.
He first took Celine’s friend upstairs, raped her in a bedroom, brought her down and tied her. Then he took Celine and did the same with her. Later he took Celine upstairs to bathroom, slit her throat and killed her. He then put Celine’s body in the freezer and locked it. Then he took the other girl upstairs, slit her throat and told her that she would die in next 10 minutes.
However, she didn’t die as prosecutor Aylett said,
“It appears she was able to talk him round promising they could be together, and he appears to have fallen for that ruse. Up until that point it must have been the defendant’s intention to murder both women and conceal both bodies in the deep freezer of the unoccupied house in that way it might be many months before anyone found out.”
Mujahid then took the lady back to southwest London where she somehow reached hospital and called the police. The prosecutor stated,
“The police found the house, forced the deep freezer open using a crowbar and inside was the body of Celine who had been dead for considerable time.”
Police arrested Mujahid from Folkestone, Kent, and also recovered the key to deep freezer padlock from him.
The prosecutor told the court,
“The defendant had been hatching his murderous plan for several weeks before he brought it into effect. He must have realised the two young women he adored were slipping away from him and if he could not have them no one else could.”
The court was also told how Celine’s step-father objected to her having a Libyan boyfriend and wanted her to have a Pakistani partner. In fact, on 18th July, a family meeting was called to pressurise Celine to break relationship with her Libyan boyfriend Omar.
Mujahid and Tappu both have denied the charges and the trial continues.
