Remember the other day there were reports from Zimbabwean media about an Indian cricket player being arrested on rape charges? Well, everyone was in panic, hearing this! Later, it was revealed that the accused wasn’t a cricketer or an official from the team but 2 Indian men who were associated with the sponsors. Yes, reports say that the Harare police arrested 2 men in connection with that case.
Well, the two accused are Rajkumar Krishnan, a businessman based in Zambia and Krishna Satyanarayan, who is associated with ITW sports. Senior Assistant Commissioner of Zimbabwe Republic Police, Charity Charamba stated that
“Two Indian nationals, Krishna Satyanarayan, aged 33, and Rajkumar Krishnan were arrested on rape charges. The girl was based in South Africa and attending a funeral in Harare. She was staying at the same hotel as those two and alleged that she was raped by them. Police have confirmed that the woman was raped. The two accused were taken to court and remanded in custody yesterday. They will apply for bail in the High Court on Monday,”
The police confirmed that both of them were staying at Meikles hotel where this incident took place. There was confusion that an Indian cricket player is involved since the team was also staying in the same hotel.
Talking about Krishna’s involvement, CEO of Technolog Frontier, Murali Srinivasan stated that
“He (Krishna) is not from our company. He is from one of our affiliate companies (iTeamWorks). That company deals in ground activities. What I have heard is that he was arrested on alleged charges of molestation,”
