It seems that Raees’ struggle for a good release date is never going to end! Yes, the movie has been postponed several times, so as to avoid clash with biggies. The movie had managed to get rid of clashes with “Sultan”, “Rustom”, “Shivaay” and “Dangal” and secured the Republic Day weekend for the release; unfortunately, the clash with Hrithik Roshan starrer “Kaabil” couldn’t be avoided.
Now, once again troubles have surfaced for the release of the flick. Yes you heard that right; there are reports of “Raees” postponing once again. This time it is not due to any clash but it is due to political reasons.
We all are aware as to how messed up the political scenario of both the nations is, after the Uri attacks. Film industry has been suffering a lot since then. MNS had warned Pakistani actors to fly to their country within 48 hours and majority of the citizens supported this decision. Following this, IMPPA has banned Pakistani actors from working in India, till the situation gets calmed down.
Moreover, Raj Thackeray had said that MNS won’t allow the release of ‘Raees’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ since the movies star Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan. Yes, he said “We have asked the theaters to not release their movie, we must teach them a lesson, the producers are more at fault than those artists,”
Now, if the movie releases on the said date, it will have to suffer from political pressure, and if makers postpone the release, the business would have a negative impact. As of now, the makers are in a fix and there is no official confirmation on this postponement, but there are high chances of the release date being shifted.
Now, if “Raees” is postponed, “Kaabil” would get a solo release, which would obviously be very favorable for Hrithik. Few days back, he had talked about how the collections of both ‘Raees’ and his movie would suffer, in case this clash happens. This news might indeed make Hrithik very happy.
