Sangeeta Bijlani seems to be pretty concerned as to how she would be presented in ‘Azhar’, the upcoming biopic of Mohammad Azharuddin, her former husband. When Azharuddin sold these rights of his personal life story, he ensured he was protected by means of a contract. Sangeeta is worried that she would come out looking negative and would be portrayed as a home breaker in this biopic.
Reports say that “Sangeeta hasn’t been in touch with Azharuddin since years now. Since the time, the couple divorced in 2010, they preferred keeping out of each other. She is scared she won’t be portrayed in positive light”
Nargis Fakhri is playing the role of Sangeeta in the film. Even ‘Oye Oye’ song is a part of Sangeeta’s portrayal in the movie.
After 5 years, Sangeeta called up Azhar and voiced her apprehensions. Moreover, she even expressed her desire of watching the movie. Since that time, the duo has been in touch regularly. Azharuddin told her that even he didn’t watch the movie yet, and has asked for a trial from the producers. However, everything is kept under wraps until Azhar’s release.
If you aren’t aware, in 1994, there were rumors of Azhar having an extra-marital affair with Sangeeta Bijlani, who would accompany him for his matches. In order to marry Sangeeta, Azhar divorced her wife Naureen, to whom he was married for 8 years.
Sangeeta and Azhar got married in the year 1996 and got divorced in the year 2010.
