Ola Customer Pays A Fare Of Rs. 2767 Yet Misses The Flight.. #SurgePrice

Many a times, during emergency we have shed more than required money but often than not got the due back. The downright rejection and nuisance of city cabs was the main reason people started opting for new age App based Cabs like Ola. The city cabs always used to ask for double the rate and one had to compel and go. But seems like Ola is on this way too.

A story on this very same line repeated in Bengaluru where a Ola Customer named Akash booked the cab from Koramangala area for Airport, at 5:15 am. The cab came with a surge of 3X, triple of what the actual fare will be…But in case of emergency what other resort does one have?

Now, that the taxi had reach Bengaluru Airport which was of no help since Akash has already missed his flight. The taxi fare gave him another low. The total amount gave us a heart attack too.. For some just 23.59 km, a whopping bill of Rs.2767.

The charges applied were</

Rate for First 30 km: Rs 540

Rate for 23.59 km: Rs 306

Peak Pricing Charge: Rs 1639.34

Toll/Parking charges: Rs 80

Total Tax: Rs 147.32.

The question here is not about the price, but a question on service providers like Ola.

It was considered as a boon over the menace of City Cabs, who used to ask for exorbitantly high price or reject outrageously. But this price makes us consider if this situation is getting worse than the former one.

Isn’t there any way to cut it short down?

What do you think is the solution for this? Can’t a check tab be kept over such high price surge?
