Several pictures of Anil Kapoor have gone viral on social media in which he is travelling in a jam-packed local train and is hanging from the footboard of the same. This was basically for promoting an upcoming TV show of his. However, do you know that this promotional train stunt has caused legal troubles for the actor? Yes, Anil Kapoor is in a legal mess now.
Anil boarded a Borivali slow local from Churchgate on Thursday at 12.24 pm. There were various videos and pictures in which he was hanging out of the packed train. Now, seeing this, Western Railway Publicity Department hasn’t kept quite. Do you know what they did?
Well, a notice has been sent to Market Men Consumer and Events Pvt Ltd i.e. the company who shot this promo. In this notice, Western Railways has sought explanation for this, because it violates the safety terms.
As per reports by Mumbai Mirror, Western Railway, Mumbai Central Division’s Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Anand Vijay Jha stated that “The agency failed to ensure that Anil Kapoor observed safety measures while performing stunts. They have accordingly been issued a warning notice,”
On the other hand, former member of Indian Railway Users Consultative Council, Shailesh Goel stated that “A star performing stunts in a local train will send a wrong message to the young generation. It should not be allowed; commuters are already facing problems because of youngsters attempting stunts.”
He further added while travelling on footboards, 18 people were injured and 17 died and while travelling on rooftops, 89 people were injured and 13 died in 2015. He further added that owing to these daredevil stunts, people are either permanently maimed or are killed.
Anand Vijay Jha also states that officials appealed Anil Kapoor for being the brand ambassador for discouraging footboard traveling.
