Usman, the pradhan of Madora, a Muslim dominated village, tells that five committees have been formed in order to control crime. These committees will present the situation in front of the higher authority which will take the decision regarding the crime committed. In his words,

“If the super committee fails to control incidents of crime, then police will be informed.”

The decision has been announced by former village pradhan, Mohd. Gaffar, who says that the Muslim community of Madora completely supports CM Yogi Adityanath’s campaign against cow slaughter. Gaffar says,

“We, too, respect the cow and will not allow its killing. Even the provision of reward is also there. Those who will provide information about cow slaughter or theft will get Rs 51,000. The bovine killers would be handed over to police and also be boycotted socially in the village. In case a person is not in a position to pay off the penalty, the money would be taken by selling off their property.”

The panchayat has taken the decision of imposing a fine of Rs. 2 lakh on those who are found to be involved in cow slaughter or theft while a fine of Rs. 1.11 lakh will be imposed on those who are found to be involved in liquor selling. CM Yogi has already given instructions to police officials for making a plan to close all the cow slaughterhouses across the state and stop smuggling of cows.
