Just recently, a Bollywood music composer Amaal Mallik criticized the various award nominations that have happened this year and slammed them for ignoring the better ones and now veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has made a revelation which will force you to believe that these Bollywood awards may have many parameters but performance has never been one of them.
During an interview that he was giving about his upcoming biography “Khullam Khulla”, Rishi said that the “Best Actor Award” which he received in 1973 for movie “Bobby” was purchased by him.
Rishi was giving an interview on Facebook live, during which he confessed that he felt guilty about it and he did it because at that time, he was just a “naive… 20-year-old brash bacha”. However, he also maintained that he never did the same again in his life.
Co-incidentally, Amitabh Bachchan’s “Zanjeer” also released in the same year and he was praised a lot for his wonderful acting in the movie.
It is not the first time when we get to hear that awards are being bought but coming straight from such a popular actor is something we never expected. Amaal has criticized these awards not because he is not being nominated but because he feels that there are some other actors who have given better performance than the nominated ones.
Way to go, Amaal.
