There have not been many days when new notes of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 500 were introduced and now, a person has been cheated by a photocopy of the new note of Rs. 2,000.
Yes, that’s right! A Chikkamagaluru farmer has been deceived by an anonymous man who duped him with a photocopy of Rs. 2,000. The incident took place on Saturday morning when the onion grower named Ashok came to APMC market with bags of onion and ended up feeling tricked when a stranger bought onion from him and gave him a note of Rs. 2,000, saying that it’s new and valid; however, when the farmer showed that note to his friends, it just turned out to be original note’s photocopy.

This is what K. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police, told The Hindu,
“It was a photocopy of the original note. It is poorly photocopied, anybody can notice it easily. The person was given the copy by an unknown person in APMC market.”
Details of the incident are noted down by police that reached the market. Annamalai further said,
“We are booking a case of cheating as per Sec. 420 of IPC in Chikkamagaluru Town station.”
This is indeed very shameful that some individuals are trying to cheat poor people who don’t possess enough knowledge to differentiate between the original and the photocopy.
