We all know that Eid festival slot is booked for Salman Khan movies. He always chooses the Eid festival for his releases; it was Wanted in 2009, Dabangg in 2010, Bodyguard in 2011, Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, Sultan in 2016 and now, Tubelight in 2017.
However, Salman’s Tubelight is not going to be a solo release this time; it will have some tough competition.
Yes, this Salman Khan starrer will clash with AR Murugadoss’ movie starring famous actor Mahesh Babu. The director is coming up with Mahesh 23, a Telegu-Tamil movie which will release on the 23rd of June, which means the Eid slot. On the other hand Tubelight will release on 25th of June 2017 i.e. just 2 days later.

Mahesh Babu is a very popular actor in the South and since his movie will release along with that of Salman, serious competition would be seen in the southern market.
Usually, South India is an important market for Salman Khan movies but Mahesh Babu starrer might eat up all the business.
