RCB or Royal Challengers Bangalore aren’t completing overs in the time allotted and this may definitely land skipper Virat Kohli in some serious mess. Currently, he is having a risk of facing a 1-match suspension after 2 offences of slow-over rates.
For 2 offences, Virat had paid hefty penalties. For one he paid Rs 12 lakh and for the other, he paid Rs 24 Lakh. Now, if he again has a 3rd offence, he would definitely be banned for one match from IPL and along with that, he would have to face a Rs 30 lakh penalty.
As per the IPL rulebook it is said that “For the third and each subsequent offence (slow over rate) in a season as captain of the bowling team, the captain will be fined US$50,000 and banned from playing in the team’s next league match.”
The 1st penalty of Kohli had come on the 22nd of April against the Rising Pune Supergiants and then, the 2nd had come on the 2nd of May against Kolkata Knight Riders. We hope Kohli doesn’t make slow over rate mistake again!
