Only Females Are Recommended By Sports Ministry For Padma Awards, Twitter Is Celebrating

9 Indian female athletes are recommended by the Sports Ministry of Indis for the Padma Awards 2019. It is indeed a huge step towards empowering female athletes of the nation and the country is celebrating. Interesting among all the recommended athletes, there is not a single male.

This is the first time in history when only females are recommended for the second-highest civilian award – the Padma Vibhushan.

Boxer Mary Kom is the first recommendation from the Ministry while badminton champ PV Sindhu, hockey captain Rani Rampal, Indian cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur, wrestler Vinesh Phogat, shooter Suma Shirur, table tennis player Manika Batra, and mountaineers twins Tashi Malik and Nungshi Malik are others in the list.
