When the much-awaited list of Oscars was out, people were very angry, because many big names were included, except SRK. Yes, the list had names like Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan.
Why was SRK not invited to join the Academy? King Khan has achieved a lot in his glorious career and he surely deserves respect.
The Oscars’ Body sent out a total of 774 invitations to new members and we all had just one question i.e. “Why didn’t SRK qualify?”.
Despite ruling millions of hearts, Shah Rukh Khan didn’t make it to the list; following this, there was lot of ruckus on social media. The body received immense criticism from his fans.
Finally, after seeing the anger of people, the Academy released an official statement. Beware! If you are an SRKian, this statement might raise your blood pressure levels.
They have revealed the reason for not including SRK and it’s very insulting. The statement read, “The basic requirement is that a candidate must have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the field of theatrical motion pictures.”
Is this reason valid? Shah Rukh Khan has got a global recognition and he has taken the Indian film industry to a new level. SRK’s stardom is beyond words and no one will agree with this official statement.
