Pierce Brosnan has always been famous for his epic character of ‘James Bond’. His grace and looks remain unmatched, don’t you agree? Now, considering all this, everyone was shocked to see Brosnan endorsing a pan masala brand ‘Pan bahar’. People were surprised to see as to why such a big star had to endorse a Pan masala brand; this has definitely lowered his dignity, isn’t it?
Soon this advertisement became viral and on seeing it, Twitterati gave mixed reactions; people actually couldn’t believe that something like this was happening. They started mocking him by means of funny memes and trolls. However, there is another twist to the story! Can you guess? Well, Pahlaj Nihalani, the CBFC chief banned this ad and said a lot about the actor;
He said;
“I haven’t seen the ad. But it is very difficult to believe Pierce Brosnan has done this. Money can hardly be a criteria when you’re selling death to people. However, he has chosen to do what he has done. But there is no way we can certify the ad. All paan masala, tobacco, alcohol ads are automatically and unconditionally banned,” said Nihalani to a popular daily.”
This means Brosnan wouldn’t be seen on national TV anymore. Even these ‘Club soda’ ads by big stars like Saif and SRK are illegal. Pahlaj adds;
I repeat, all paan masala ads are banned by the government on all public platforms. So what does Mr. Brosnan hope to achieve by doing this ad?”
Nihalani says that if the ad is associated to alcohol, pan masala or tobacco in any way, it is STRICTLY BANNED. This time we are convinced with the CBFC chief. Such a step would definitely bring about progress in India, don’t you think so?
