Racism is one issue that has been destroying the roots of unity and harmony in the world since ages and despite its hazardous outcome, people don’t seem to have learnt a lesson. Over and over again, we have come across incidents when folks made racist comments for a nation or an individual and obviously, had to go through unpleasant situations for the same.
Recently Marc Anwar, a Pakistan-born actor, is allegedly sacked from Coronation Street subsequent to making offensive and racial remarks on Twitter for Indians with regard to Kashmir issue.
He has been playing Sharif Nazir in the show which is running for a long time; however, he’s now fired from it when heads of ITV network came to know about the tweets posted by the star.
Here’s the screenshot of his tweets which give a clear idea of his aggression for Indians on the matter of Kashmir. Not only this, his tweets also seem to inflame Pak actors not to work in India.
As reported by media, Marc called Indians “B*****ds p**s drinking #c**ts” in the series of tweets, asking Pak for putting a ban on Indian movies and provoking stars of the country to leave India.
Nevertheless, he later deleted tweets but it was too late as the matter was brought into the light of ITV heads who issued a statement, asking Marc not to come back on the show.
Here’s the statement from ITV, “We are deeply shocked by the entirely unacceptable, racially offensive comments made on Twitter by Marc Anwar.
“We have talked to Marc and, as a consequence of his comments, he will not be returning to Coronation Street with immediate effect.”
Apart from Coronation Street, Anwar is also seen in few movies, such as 51st State and Captain Phillips.
