Much talked about Historic film Partition 1947 directed by acclaimed filmmaker Gurinder Chaddha and starring Huma Qureshi finally released last Friday. The film that is based on the time when Indian & Pakistan got freedom and also talks about the process of partition and India’s last viceroy Lord Mountbatten.

While the film has released in India with a lot of excitement among cinema lovers, surprisingly Pakistan has banned it. Although, it’s not the first time that Pakistan has banned an Indian film, everyone is surprised because it talks about a subject which is equally important for both countries.

Gurinder Chaddha who was shocked by the decision of Pakistan to ban the film, expressed herself on Twitter. She said-

It is unfortunate my film has been banned in Pakistan.it will always be the land of my ancestors. #Partition1947 @humasqureshi @RelianceEnt
