We have heard about many tragic incidents in the world of cricket and every time we hear some, we get shivers. Today, we are here to report one more incident which might leave you in shock. Although on 14th August, everyone was busy celebrating Independence Day in Pakistan, soon after that, a shock wave gripped the nation.

Famous cricketer Zubair Ahmed lost his life in an unfortunate cricket accident. Yes, during a club match at Mardan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, a bouncer hit Zubair’s head and he died.

Pakistani Cricket Board mourned the sad demise of the cricketer and also shared a tweet with regards to the same. Moreover, the Board stressed on the fact that it’s very essential for a cricketer to wear a helmet all the time.

The tweet read, “Tragic death of Zubair Ahmed is another reminder that safety gear i.e. helmet must be worn at all times. Our sympathies with Zubair’s family”

This tragic incident took place on the 14th of August; Ahmed has played 4 matches for List A and Twenty20 team Quetta Bears

Another Pakistani fan also shared a sad tweet;

The tweet read, “#ZubairAhmed young #cricketer From mardan #KPK received a short pitch delivery hit upon his head and died during match #ICC #Cricket #PCB”

Zubair Ahmed was from Fakhar Zaman’s Academy. Hours before Zubair’s death, even David Warner (Australia) was hit by a bouncer delivered by Josh Hazlewood in a practice match; if you remember, Phillip Hughes also died in the same way 3 years ago in Sydney during Sheffield Shield match.

Head protection is very necessary while playing cricket; a small hit can claim a life. We are really shocked to hear about Zubair; may his soul rest in peace.
