While many are praising the flick for portrayal of Sanjay Dutt flawlessly and depicting the father-son relationship in a heart-touching manner, there is a section of critics that doesn’t appear to be happy as it claims that “Sanju” is an attempt of whitewashing the bad image of Sanjay Dutt.

People didn’t spare the filmmaker Hirani too and alleged that he showed Dutt as a victim of circumstances, a man who committed mistakes and made wrong choices, however eventually he is good at heart.

Sanjay Dutt kept a mum on these allegations so far but at last he opened up on the accusations during an interaction with India Today TV. Rubbishing all the claims, Dutt said that spending Rs 30-40 crore is a huge amount just for cleaning the image of a person.

In his words,

“I just want to say that Munna Bhai was already made, that avatar was already out. I don’t think anyone would spend Rs 30-40 crore to change his image. That is too much of an amount. I have told the truth and the truth has been accepted by India, and the box office collection shows that.”
