The Indian cricketer KL Rahul has been dating actress Athiya Shetty for quite a long time now and the couple will get hitched soon as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has granted him leave of absence in January 2023. While Athiya Shetty who is daughter of famous actor Suniel Shetty hasn’t tasted much success in her acting career, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, KL Rahul is also getting slammed a lot on social media networks for his poor performances against strong teams.
Indian cricket fans are very unhappy, in fact annoyed with KL Rahul as they feel that his slow and timid approach of batting in the powerplays has played an important role in India’s disappointing exit from the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Many online users have termed him as the biggest fraud of the Indian cricket as he fails to perform against strong teams but manages to stay in the squad on the basis of his good performances against weak teams.
KL Rahul has earned the name of minnows basher because in the last two T20 World Cups, he has been pretty consistent when it comes to performing against minnows and failing against strong teams. In the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 also, the LSG skipper scored two fifties but they were against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh while in the encounters against Pakistan, South Africa and England, he didn’t even touch the two digit mark.
A huge number of Indian cricket fans are demanding KL Rahul’s ouster from the team as there is a perception that he focuses more on his personal goals instead of the team’s success but the team management is in no mood to listen as the Karnataka batter is back in the squad for the Bangladesh tour where team India will play 3 ODIs and 2 test matches.
