Police Caught Bride Without Helmet – Escaped By Saying ‘Please Let Me Go. Today Is My Wedding’

Gone are the days when brides used to hide their blushing face with fine ‘mulmul dupatta’. Nowadays there’s neither time to wear a ‘5 Kg lehenga’ nor loads of jewellery and wait for their hubby dear in the much decorated room on their suhaag raat. No ‘doli-sholi’, no ‘baarat-shara’t, a faded jeans and a casual top is enough for today’s brides. And Scooty took the place of ‘doli’.

And that exactly was her pleading words to the police constable to let her go when she was caught without helmet riding her scooty to reach her wedding venue. “Sir, please, please, please let me go. Today is my wedding. My boyfriend is waiting over there.” I don’t know much about traffic rules and forget to wear my helmet in hurry.” She kept on convincing “sir, please understand sir, it’s my marriage. I’m not much aware of all these things, sir, I was just coming out of the beauty parlour and u caught me. That’s not fair.”

Well…the best part of the incident is that the constable was convinced and allowed her to go. Was it really unfair to stop women without helmet just because she was rushing to attend her own marriage? I mean, was it really right to not taking any action against the girl without helmet where everywhere lots of campaigns are active against the traffic rule breakers?

‘Sorry sir, please let me go, today’s is my marriage’ kind of words cannot be taken as the excuse for disobeying the traffic rules. It’s a question to the administration and example of negligence. What’s wrong there with the girls saying ‘sir, please let me go, it’s my first date with my boyfriend, and I am horridly late.’
