A cop in Ghotki, Pakistan, who allegedly assaulted an octogenarian belonging to Hindu minority has been taken into custody after a campaign on social media demanded justice.
As reported, the constable attacked oldie for eating prior to Iftar on Friday. The accused identified as Ali Hassan posted in Hayat Pitafi is detained as he injured and tortured an old man named Gokal Das.
According to Masood Bangash, SSP Ghotki, an FIR is lodged against the constable under Pakistan Penal Code Sections 504, 506/2 and 337 to attack senior citizen. The octogenarian’s grandson Vindod Kumar filed the complaint.
The unfortunate happening came to the notice of Sindh A.D. Khawaja, Inspector General, when the victim’s photo in which he showed marks of injury and attack started doing rounds over web and social media.
He ordered justice for the Hindu laborer and many right activists appreciated the speedy action by IG.

It’s really a shameful act by a person who is responsible for the safety and security of others. However, what IG did in a short span of time is worth applauding!
