#PROUD! Indian Army Saved The Life Of Russian Tourist Who Fell Into A Deep Snow-Covered Gorge

At one fell swoop, there is no denying the fact that they care for the lives of others more than their own and this is what makes us salute them every day, every moment!!

Recently Indian army carried out a rescue operation successfully on Sunday by saving the life a Russian tourist (33) who got trapped in a deep snow-laden canyon in Gulmarg, Kashmir.

In the words of Col. S.D. Goswami, Defence spokesperson of Northern Command, “Dimitry Lobanov, along with five others of his group from Russia, was skiing in the higher reaches on Apharwat when he lost control and fell into a deep gorge covered with snow on Sunday.”

Army’s High Altitude Warfare School gave a prompt reaction to the group’s plea and not only saved the tourist from the deep canyon but also offered him medical assistance.

Afterwards, they immediately brought him to Gulmarg’s Army Medical Inspection Room from Apharwat via Khilanmarg. The man got major injuries and on account of falling, he had multiple fractures too.

As per Col. S.D. Goswami, “The rescue team had to wade through thick snow cover for six kilometres to reach the medical post, where the individual was resuscitated and his medical condition stabilised by Army doctors.”
