This incident is definitely a very shocking one. A woman in Pune, after being dragged out of the car was threatened and attacked just because she wore a short dress and went out with men.
This 22 year old was told by a gang of men that “How can you wear such a short dress and roam with two males at such a time? In Pune, this is not allowed.”
As per reports, this incident took place on the 1st of May when the woman was returning from a sangeet rehearsal.
The woman stated that at 5.30 am, when she passed out the main Lullanagar signal, 1 car started driving close to hers. The glasses of the window were tinted, but a man tried peeping into the car by rolling that glass down.
The man abused her and he along with his gang followed the girl till her home. A male friend of the girl tried intervening but he was hit. The report also says that she was dragged out by other men and was hit. The victim had the fear that she would be raped if the male friends wouldn’t have interfered.
She said “I dialled 100, but no one answered. The cops arrived an hour later and filed an NC (non cognisable) complaint. After I got to know what an NC is, I visited the Kondhwa police station so many times. I finally managed to file a proper case on Sunday,”
Police has arrested 2 accused Shubham Gupta and Amit Mukedkar and stated that they are on a hunt for the rest. 1 week after this incident, the police agreed to register an FIR.
