The drama queen known for her bold and quirky statements is back in the headlines for something more serious this time.
Rakhi Sawant had a case filed against her for hurting religious sentiments. Rakhi was accused of making derogatory comments against sage Valmiki who wrote the religious mythological story of ‘Ramayana’. The Valmiki community carried on various protest in different locations and also filed the case against her for the same statements.

She made these statements in a TV program. The complainant then filed a case for which she had to appear in court on March 9th but she failed to show up.
For the same reasons, the local court in Ludhiana issued an arrest warrant against the actress. Today, she was arrested by the Punjab police.
While speaking about controversy and the arrest to ANI, she said,
“I just gave an example from what I have read in my childhood. Just like Valmiki, who got changed from being a robber to a saint, Mika ji also has changed. It was just an example.”
She even said that she is not Salman Khan that anyone will gain anything after putting charges on her and getting her arrested. She said,
“I am not Salman Khan, I am Rakhi Sawant. You won’t get anything by putting charges on me. I am a simple girl who does social work and works in movies.”
She couldn’t believe that an arrest warrant was issued against her, on the same she said,
“When I got the news, I initially thought it was an April Fool prank. I don’t know why I am being targeted. Maybe because I belong to the film industry, I am an easy target.”
However, she wasn’t happy how her words were misinterpreted and therefore she felt apologetic and that’s why she apologized to Valmiki community, she said to ANI,
“Through ANI, I want to apologize to all the Valmiki community brothers and sisters, if I have hurt their sentiment. But this wasn’t my intention.”
We hope the controversy queen is relieved of all charges and things work out for her positively.
