The murder of Qandeel Baloch, the Pakistani model has disturbed everyone. Everyone is wondering as to how someone can kill his own sister. Yes, this was a case of ‘Honour killing’ and everyone was left shocked over this. Till yesterday, Qandeel’s brother Waseem had fled from the spot, but finally, the cops have caught hold of him and he has revealed the reason why he killed her.

“She was bringing disrepute to our family’s honour and I could not tolerate it any further. I killed her around 11.30pm on Friday night when everyone else had gone to bed. My brother is not involved in the murder,”

Police announced the arrest of Waseem at a press conference, wherein he confessed that he killed Qandeel owing to her risqué videos and photos on social media. However, this murder was just 3 days after past marriages of Qandeel were revealed. Yes, Qandeel had appealed to the Interior Ministry of Pakistan for security as she had been receiving lot of threatenings from her brother, but unfortunately she didn’t get any.

While many had criticised this act, there were some who were ‘Happy’ for the same since they believed Qandeel is nothing but a disgrace for their country. There was even a call for a bill for putting end to ‘Honour killings’ in Pakistan.

Yes, as per the reports, a Senator, Sherry Rahman stated;

“Assuming that Qandeel Baloch’s brother will probably be arrested and punished for murder because of the high profile [nature] of the case, the fact remains that an essentially right-wing government is sitting on vital amendments in the Pakistan Criminal Procedure Code that would disallow justice to be privatised for crimes against women.”
