There is no denying the fact that Salman Khan starrer “Race 3” was one of the most awaited movies of 2018. What’s more, most of his Eid releases are superhit with great content and considering the fact that the previous two installments of the “Race” franchise had already done wonders, hopes with “Race 3” were quite high.
However, the movie couldn’t live up to fans’ expectations and was highly criticised for poor story, content, screenplay and performances of most of the star cast except Anil Kapoor.
Nevertheless, the big star cast, an already successful franchise and Salman Khan’s production house could easily drew audience to theatres on its opening day.
Talking about the first day collections of “Race 3”, the movie had a great start despite the fact that the pre-Eid release affected its business to some extent. In fact, it has emerged as the year’s biggest opener and collected whopping Rs 29.17 crore on its first day. This figure is definitely expected to go higher on Saturday due to the beginning of Eid.

If we compare this figure with the first day collections of “Race 2”, it’s much higher as the second installment of the series earned Rs 15.12 crore on its opening day.
Earlier three movies of Salman Khan made it to the 100 crore club in just 3 days:
1. Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Rs 102.60 crore [Fri-Sun]
2. Sultan – Rs 105.53 crore [released on Wed; Wed-Fri]
3. Tiger – Zinda Hai Rs 114.93 crore [Fri-Sun]
Well, it seems that “Race 3” will also have no problem in entering this list considering its first day collections and the commencing of Eid festivities.
