The Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane is in superb form in the ongoing IPL 2023 as in yesterday’s match which was played against Kolkata Knight Riders, he played a blistering knock of 71 runs not out for which he played only 29 deliveries and his innings included 6 fours & 5 sixes.
Ajinkya Rahane has been out of the national team for quite some time now and he was written off by many former cricketers and cricket experts considering the fact that he was a test specialist and nobody expected him to turn the tables around in such a great manner.
The veteran Indian cricketer is a part of MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023 and till now, he has scored 209 runs at a strike rate of 199.04 with an average of 52.25 and it includes two half-century knocks. With this knock of 71* against KKR, Ajinkya Rahane has become the third player to hit the fastest half century for CSK as he has completed his 50 runs in 19 balls. This innings was quite special for Rahane as he won his first Player of the Match award in the IPL in the last seven years.

As far as the match is concerned, it was played at Eden Gardens and after winning the toss, KKR decided to bowl first. However, CSK got to a great start as Ruturaj Gaikwad (35 runs, 20 balls, 2 fours & 3 sixes) and Devon Conway (56 runs, 40 balls, 4 fours & 3 sixes) put up a partnership of 73 runs for the first wicket. After that, Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube (50 runs, 21 balls, 2 fours & 5 sixes) hammered the KKR bowlers and helped their team in scoring a big total of 235/4.
In response, KKR could manage only 186/8 runs in their stipulated 20 overs and CSK won the match by 49 runs.
