The head coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid is a very happy man as his team has won the 5-match test series against England by 4-1 and after India won the fifth and the final test match at Dharamshala, Rahul Dravid addressed the team and praised them for their performances.

While addressing the Indian players, Rahul Dravid also tried to make them understand the importance of playing together as a unit and of helping each other as well.

Rahul Dravid stated that a series like this is tough and it has to be earned. He said that test cricket can be hard at times, in terms of skills, mentally and physically as well but in the end, it is really satisfying and phenomenal to win a series in which you came back and won 4 matches after losing the first test match.

While team India had to play without its star players – Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Mohammed Shami, five youngsters – Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, Akash Deep and Devdutt Padikkal made their international test debuts in this series and the best thing was that almost all of them played pretty well.

Rahul Dravid addressed these youngsters and told them that they will need each other to succeed irrespective of whether they are batter or bowler, their success is tied to the success of other players. He added that it is important that they help others in succeeding which will help them in succeeding as well.

Rahul Dravid stated that there were times when the team was pushed to wall but they found a way to come back and it speaks of their skills, their resilience and their character. He added that it was fantastic that whenever the team was in trouble, someone from the team rose up to the occasion and turned the game in the team’s favor.

The former Indian cricketer who is also called “The Wall” by his fans told the players that it is not only important to bounce back and win matches but they should ensure that they keep winning when they are ahead in competition and don’t let the other team win matches.

The head coach lauded the team for performing so well against the quality opposition and said that they have certainly learnt a lot from this series as they talked about it before the start of the innings.

This is certainly a big win and this is the first series that England has lost after adopting the Bazball approach.
