Recently, Modi Government announced its decision of introducing a flexi-fare system for Duronto, Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains. However, this announcement was welcomed with lot of irk and outrage on Twitter. Some labeled this as an ‘Anti-people’ move and strongly stated that it was introduced only with one aim i.e. stealing money from poor public.
Amidst all this anger, Rahul Kanwal, the anchor of India Today took to Twitter and extended his support to this decision of Modi Government. In addition to supporting it, the anchor lashed out at all those people who were unnecessarily defaming it. Have a look at his series of tweets…
How will Suresh Prabhu generate revenue?
Criticism of rail price hike political opportunism. How is @sureshpprabhu supposed to generate revenues if relatively well off don't pay.

People spend thousands in malls!
Folks spend thousands of rupees in malls every weekend. Same folks expect rail traffic to be dirt cheap. Why. You pay when you travel abroad

Attitude needs to be changed!
People expect railway facilities to be at par with bullet trains but don't want to pay for the service. This attitude needs to change.

Seeing these tweets, Manish Sisodia, the Deputy CM of Delhi questioned his logic for supporting the decision, after which the duo engaged into a spat!
Have a look at the conversation…
Wonderful logic!
Wow! What a wonderful logic! https://t.co/32X1dpzmBo
— Manish Sisodia (@msisodia) September 7, 2016
What is wrong with the logic?
Sir what's wrong with the logic. Poor people are not having to pay more. The rich can very well afford to spend a little more.

Good services don’t come for free!
No good service comes for free. If passengers want railway services to improve, they must be willing to pay for it.

Aap toh bhadak gaye!
अरे आप तो भड़क गए! कर लीजिए जस्टिफाई. वैसे ये गाड़ियां उनके ये भी हैं जो रिच नहीं हैं। हर आम आदमी रिच नहीं होता है। https://t.co/vO45hVH4BW

Nothing wrong with this system!
if the poor were forced to pay more, then political attacks would be warranted. Nothing wrong with surge pricing on premium trains

This conversation was not so serious until Arvind Kejriwal decided to enter. Seeing Rahul’s tweets, Kejriwalji labeled him as the ‘Spokesperson of Modi’.
Modi ji's spokesperson gets angry … https://t.co/0FTdyhnoeN
— Arvind Kejriwal (@ArvindKejriwal) September 7, 2016
However, the anchor was not going to remain silent; he slammed him with his tweets. Check it out..
Higher level of evolution is needed!
having contrarian view doesn't make one a spokesperson. But to appreciate this requires higher level of evolution than yours

When TROLLS get elected!
This is what happens when trolls get elected Chief Ministers! https://t.co/tPxm184Esv
— Rahul Kanwal (@rahulkanwal) September 7, 2016
He even called Kejriwal as a ‘Troll’, which was enough to spark a controversy. Luckily, nothing of that sort happened as Kejriwal preferred staying mum after reading his tweet. Rahul also made a strong statement about the political situation of our country with his last tweet.
real pity that a radical political idea born with such high hopes is frittered away with such high levels of immaturity.
