Rahul Tewatia has become a household name after this match as he has made everyone learn an important lesson that you should never give up and should also not write-off anyone.

When Tewatia came to bat, RR needed to score runs at a good run rate but he made things worse because he was not able to connect with the ball and was also having problems in rotating the strike. There came a moment when everyone was sure that Punjab would win the match as Tewatia was playing in the test match mode. In the first 19 balls that he played, he scored only 8 runs while the team required scoring at the run rate of 17.

Nevertheless, Rahul Tewatia changed the whole scenario in the 18th over when the West Indian pacer Sheldon Cottrell came to bowl. Tewatia slashed 5 sixes in that over, adding 30 valuable runs to his team’s score as well as his score. Everybody was shocked as to how a batsman who was finding it difficult to play suddenly went on a rampage. Though Tewatia got out on 53 (31) but RR teammates ensured that their team tasted the victory.

Tewatia also said that he was under pressure when he was not able to hit the ball big but Sanju Samson calmed him down and told him that it was a matter of one big shot. As per Rahul Tewatia, he was eagerly waiting for that one big shot and it came in the over of Sheldon Cottrell. Rahul said that as he played the biggie, his confidence improved and he went on to play more big shots.

The Haryana cricketer who made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2013-14 says that he has played a lot in Lahli, Rohtak, and the pitch over there helps the medium pacers a lot. According to him, there are three International spinners in the team who have helped him a lot. The three international spinners whom Tewatia talked about are Amit Mishra, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jayant Yadav. Presently, Yuzvendra Chahal is playing for the Indian squad and in the IPL, he plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
