Only Rajinikanth Can Create Records! His Film 2.0 Entered 100 Crores Club Even Before Release

Users are eagerly waiting for the teaser of 2.0. Yes, it’s a sequel to “Enthiran” and stars Akshay Kumar, Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson in lead roles; it will surely rock the Box Office. 2.0 is the costliest Indian film (Budget of 450 crores) and no doubt, makers have put in lots of efforts.

It seems the film has entered the 100 crores club even before its release. Yes, it has earned HUGE amount of money i.e. Rs 110 crores by selling the satellite rights to Zee TV.

This is definitely a record price; the Hindi, Telugu and Tamil satellite rights have been sold to Zee TV for a whopping 110 crores. This is the first time in history that an Indian movie has earned such a big sum for satellite rights.

Creative Head of Lyca Productions, Raju Mahalingam, gave a confirmation of this news. 110 crores is just for the satellite rights and now, the makers are in talks with Netflix and Amazon for the digital rights of 2.0.

Only Rajinikanth Can Create Records! His Film 2.0 Entered 100 Crores Club Even Before Release - RVCJ Media

The interesting thing about this deal is that even though Zee TV has purchased it for a whopping 110 crores, it has got the rights only for 15 years. Usually, movies are sold outright, but in case of 2.0, there’s a limitation.

Theatrical rights of the movie are yet to be sold and the amount is predicted to be around 100 crores, only for Hindi rights. As of now, the negotiation for Tamil rights hasn’t started.

110 crores even before release is possible only for Rajinikanth movies, isn’t it? Here’s how Twitterati reacted to the news…
