The cricket fraternity is highly impressed with the Indian cricket team as it is the only team which has managed to remain unbeatable in the league stage as it has won all the 9 matches and that too, comfortably.
The former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja is also full of praises for the Indian cricket team as he says in an interview that the Indian cricket team has shown the gulf or difference between bigger and smaller teams. He adds that there is predictability when they play as throughout the tournament, everyone knows that they are going to win. He goes on to say that the Indian team never lost focus and it was ruthless even against Netherlands and such things have made its reputation grow further.
Ramiz Raja also took a jibe at former Pakistani cricketer Hasan Raza who claimed that the ball which is being used by the Indian bowlers is different from what the bowlers of other countries are using as this is helping the Indian pacers in generating seam and swing which is not the case with bowlers of other nations.
Ramiz Raja says that it may be possible that the ball may look like a golf ball to the Pakistani batters while batting and other than this, he doesn’t feel there is any difference.
Ramiz Raja also praises the Indian pacers and terms their control, seam and swing as magic. He adds that this type of mastery needs to be admired as these cricketers have raised the levels. Ramiz Raja says that if a team from subcontinent can do this, why the Pakistani team can’t do it.
The Pakistan team wasn’t able to make a place in the semi-finals as it ended the league phase on the 5th position with just 4 wins in 9 matches. As per Ramiz Raja, there is a difference between the level of teams of India and Pakistan because the Indian team has worked on their basics but the Pakistani team is living in the past. He says that the Indian team has set new standards in bowling and he has never seen such a strong Indian bowling line-up.
Ramiz Raja further adds that India has some really good legspin options but till now, they didn’t feel the need of a legspinner. He further talked about the Indian batting side and said that there was a time when India had Sunil Gavaskar, then Sachin Tendulkar came and now they have Virat Kohli and this chain continues further.
Well, we certainly agree with Ramiz Raja, what about you?
