Ravi Ashwin Explained Marketing Strategy With India Vs England 3rd Test Match

India has now taken a lead of 2-1 in the four match test series against England after winning the third test match by 10 wickets and it won’t be wrong to say that the Indian bowlers performed in an exemplary manner to help their team in attaining victory. However, many former England cricketers were of the opinion that the pitch of the Narendra Modi Stadium on which the third test match was played was not suitable for a five day match. The former England players also had a problem with the Chennai pitch on which the second test match was played and was won by India.

Not just the former England cricketers but the former Indian player Yuvraj Singh was also not happy with the quality of the pitch as he took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “Finished in 2 days Not sure if that’s good for test cricket! If @anilkumble1074 and @harbhajan_singh bowled on these kind of wickets, they would be sitting on a thousand and 800? 🤔 However congratulations to @akshar2026 what a spell! congratulations @ashwinravi99 @ImIshant ”

The Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma and Indian skipper Virat Kohli defended the pitch and blamed the lack of focus and discipline in the batsmen of both the sides because of which the test match ended in 2 days.

Axar Patel was adjudged as the Player of the Match for taking 11 wickets; however, we cannot deny the essential fact that the match was very important for Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin as well. This was 100th test match of Ishant Sharma while Ashwin crossed the 400th wicket mark in this test match.

R Ashwin took to Twitter to slam all those who were blaming the pitch for England’s loss. Nevertheless, his tweets were quite cryptic as he talked about the marketing strategies and the manner in which people are sold ideas and are taught to think the way the marketers want us to think.

Here’s what Ashwin wrote in a series of tweets, “Products are sold using various marketing strategies and that’s an accepted practice! We now live in an era where ideas are also being sold to us and it’s a classic example of ‘outbound marketing’, however I would like to add that buying ideas being sold to us is like telling us. ‘You can’t think on your own’ and here we will teach you how to think and also help you think the way we want you to think. After having played the game at this level for a decade, I can safely say that ‘As long as we are going to buy it, they will shove it down our throat’. Finally, we can always have and stand by our opinions even if it’s against the majority as long as we know that it is our own and not the one that’s been sold to us! ‘The choice is always ours’.”

Here are the tweets made by Ravichandran Ashwin:

R Ashwin wants people to understand how former England cricketers are trying to make us believe that the pitch is bad rather than saying that the England batsmen batted in a dismal manner. Ashwin asks his fans and followers to have an opinion and stand for it even if it is against the majority.
