Ravi Shastri Pokes Fun At Mark Waugh Over His 4-0 Prediction When India Got All Out For 36 - RVCJ Media

During the first day of the test match, Ravi Shastri made Mark Waugh recall his prediction of Australia winning the 4-match test series under BGT 2020-21 by 4-0 after India suffered a humiliating defeat in the first test match which was played at Adelaide. In response, Mark Waugh said smilingly that he was not the only one who predicted that.

India not only lost the Adelaide test match by 8 wickets but it also got out on its lowest ever total of 36 runs. Moreover, the then skipper Virat Kohli was also returning to India for the birth of his first baby with Anushka Sharma.

Ravi Shastri was the head coach of the Indian team at that time and he along with stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane turned the whole scenario upside down as India clinched victory in the second test match which was played at Melbourne and not forget to mention, Rahane scored a century in that match.

The third test match at Sydney ended in a draw and in the fourth test match, the Indian team defeated the Aussies at Gabba where the latter had been invincible for the last 33 years. The Indian team under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership and Ravi Shastri’s guidance made many eat their words by winning the BGT 2020-21 by 2-1.

During the Nagpur test match when Dinesh Karthik was commentating with Mark Waugh, the former also made some bold predictions which turned out to be true; DK stated that he feels India will bat only once. Mark Waugh says that he will write the time and his statement in diary and he is sure that it is not going to be as easy for the Indians as a walk in the park and in response, DK said that though it is not easy yet it is not as difficult as the Aussies made it look.
