The match was played at Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati, as Rajasthan Royals has made it its second home ground and it was the first time in the history of the IPL that a match was played in any North-Eastern state of the country. However, one interesting incident took place in yesterday’s match when R Ashwin once again revived memories of mankading.

During the match while bowling, Ravichandran Ashwin issued a warning to the PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan as he was backing too much even before the ball was bowled and just after that, the cameraman shifted his focus on Jos Buttler who had a bitter experience of mankading in the year 2019.

Here is the video of the incident which was shared by Jio Cinema with the caption, “Ash warning Gabbar and Jos going ‘I’ve seen this movie before’ in his head – it’s all happening at Barsapara”.

If you remember, in the IPL 2019, R Ashwin who was the skipper of Punjab Kings mankaded Jos Buttler in an IPL match between PBKS and RR and many slammed the Indian spinner for his act. However, Ravichandran Ashwin stood his ground firmly and maintained that whatever he did is within the laws of the game and he would do it again whenever he gets the chance.

As far as the match is concerned, there is no denying the fact that Ravichandran Ashwin made a mistake by not dismissing Shikhar Dhawan because at that time he was batting at the score of 15 runs but after that, he went on to score 86 runs not out (56 balls, 9 fours & 3 sixes). Prabhsimran Singh also played a brilliant knock of 60 runs (34 balls, 7 fours & 3 sixes) and helped his team in putting up a good total of 197/4 runs on the score board. However, the hosts could manage only 192/7, the highest scorer for RR was skipper Sanju Samson who played a knock of 42 runs (25 balls, 5 fours & 1 six).

How would Jos Buttler have felt after seeing R Ashwin giving a warning instead of dismissing Shikhar Dhawan? What do you think? Do let us know.
