I was victim of Swine Flu (H1N1 Virus). I have very strong immunity & hardly had fever 3 or 4 times throughout my life so I never thought Swine Flu infection could attack me. This was first wrong assumption by me. Swine Flu infection is lethal and can undoubtedly attack individuals even with great immunity. Children underneath 14 yrs and old matured over 50 years are most inclined to swine influenza infection.

I work in an IT organization in Pune and stay in 2 BHK flat with 3 other flat-mates. On 2nd Feb, I had cough and my throat began tormenting from consistent hack. I went to chemist and purchased 10 strepsils and took them after consistently to lessen my throat torment. After reaching home, I checked my temperature and I had 100 degree fever however I thought it to be ordinary & took Crocin tablet and dozed. Next morning I awake to get prepared for office but when checked temperature again – it was 101 degree. My flat mates suggested me to take rest and leave from office. I was feeling low, so considered taking a clear out. I again dozed for the entire day by taking Crocin. I didn’t visit Doctor as I thought its typical fever and will run away with couple of Crocin tablets. Same happened for next couple of days as well.

On 6th Feb, my other 3 flat mates had fever excessively & that is the point at which we made sense of its not typical fever & its viral. We went to close-by hospital, had our blood test done, & doctor told us that all of you have Swine Flu. We all were stunned and asked in what manner would he be able to made sense of from blood test that we have Swine Flu. I requested Swine Flu test & he told me, it is expensive & will cost Rs 9000. Report came within 4 hours and result was positive. We all were really worried and thought we will die. Doctor provided for us Tamiflu tablets & didn’t even admit us. We went home, took tablets & rested.

On 7th Feb, my other flat mates were impeccably fine – No temperature, No Cold, No Cough, No Throat Pain. They were flawlessly normal within 24 hours. On the other hand, my throat agony expanded and I was not even able to drink water. Blood was leaving my mouth. I called the Doctor and let him know blood is originating from my mouth, that is the point at which he admitted me. For next 2 days, I was living in danger of being die coz of this viral ailment. Doctor told me that your lungs has been tainted by H1N1 viral because of delay in treatment. I again solicited him “What are my chances from survival“. He snickered and said you are flawlessly okay & will be fine within next 2 days. I was in extremely critical condition right then and there. I thought they are not by any means worried about my survival.

Doctor suggested me to take Tamiflu tablets and didn’t give any other tablet. However, Tamiflu tablet did the trick and inside next 48 hours I also had “No temperature, No Cold, No Cough, No Throat Pain”. I thought I have been fortunate to make due from this viral.
