If you belong to 90s, we bet you can never forget Shaktimaan, a TV series featuring Indian fictional superhero directed by Dinkar Jani and produced by Mukesh Khanna. The characters of protagonist Shaktimaan and his double role Pandit Gangadhar Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri who was a newspaper photographer were played by Mukesh Khanna.
Well, if you remember Shaktimaan, you must also not have forgetten Geeta Vishwas aka Vaishnavi Mahant, the journalist who was in love with Shaktimaan.
Vaishnavi Mahant well managed to gain the attention of viewers despite Shaktimaan being a superhero series.
Geeta was praised a lot in Shaktimaan and even though she did a movie named “Veerana” in the year 1988, it was the character of Geeta who made her a household name.
From 1998 to 2005, Shaktimaan was undoubtedly one of the most watched and loved TV shows; however, when it ended, Vaishnavi Mahant was left with no option other than to search for alternatives.
Even after Shaktimaan, Vaishnavi continued to do TV serials which were quite popular and hit as well; for instance, “Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke”, “Miley Jab Hum Tum” etc.
However, all these shows too couldn’t give her a distinct fame and recognition and that’s why, she moved towards South.
Shaktimaan’s Geeta has changed a lot and today, you can see her as the whole new Vaishnavi Mahant.
She’s been in news for her photoshoot as well.
As of present, she is working in “Tashan-e-Ishq” on Zee TV.
