Shikha Swaroop, former actress and winner of Miss India was ruling the small screen in the 90s with her amazing acting skills. Yes, in that period, TV buffs had just one name on their minds and that is ‘Rajkumari Chandrakanta’. Well, she essayed the role of Rajkumari in the famous TV series Chandrakanta which used to be aired on Doordarshan.
Her acting was one thing, but another thing which she was popular for was her ‘Gifted Beauty’. Yes, she had gorgeous looks and would spread the magic with her beautiful eyes. Unlike today’s actresses, she didn’t need volumes of makeup to look prettier; just a small touch-up was enough for her.
Being a perfect combination of beauty and brains, Shikha tried her luck with Bollywood and also secured some projects. She became highly popular with her entry into film industry. Her list of movies included Awaaz De Kahaan Hai, Kaayda Kanoon, Naag Mani, Pyaar Hua Chori Chori, Policewala Gunda, Tahalka and many more. She also returned back to small screen with ‘Kahaani Chandrakanta Ki’ on Zee TV.
In the year 1988, Shikha got crowned as Miss India and she continued carrying this title for 3 years before it was passed on to Preeti Mankotia in the year 1991. Shikha was also a National level Badminton player, but later due to some serious health issues she had to leave everything.
