Remember Sarvjeet-Jasleen Case? The Man Is Charged With IPC Sections 354 A & 506

Sarvjeet Singh Bedi, the man who allegedly passed objectionable comments on Jasleen Kaur when she was walking down Tilak Nagar Street on 23rd August, 2015, and had to suffer for a crime which he probably didn’t even commit, once again got a new date from the court, i.e., 28th June, 2017.

Remember Sarvjeet-Jasleen Case? The Man Is Charged With IPC Sections 354 A & 506 - RVCJ Media

If you remember, the man got “tareekh pe tareekh” for more than a year now and still, there’s no satisfactory conclusion in the case. However, the only difference this time was that Sarvjeet was being charged with IPC sections 354 A and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation).

Sarvjeet took to Facebook and wrote:

“Again got a new date 28 june 2017

But is baar judge ne mere against charges lagaye hai 354a and 506.. Or next date me ab lawyer ki baari hai kuch karne ki..

So hope for the best fet next date…”

Well, if you don’t have an idea about IPC section 354 A, this is what it refers to:

Eve teasing is definitely a serious offence but a man should be punished only after his crime is proved; however, in the case of Sarvjeet, the guy is suffering for more than 1.5 years, if not physically, then mentally, as he has to go through much agony and suffer mental torment. Even though people are showing support towards him, his image has got maligned with the tag of an eve teaser just after the incident went viral and Jasleen filed a case against him.

The most traumatic thing is that she’s simply vanished from the frame after trapping a man who can be innocent and even she knows the truth. To what extent is it correct to wrongly blame others just for the sake of media attention and limelight?

Even netizens commented in favor of Sarvjeet on his Facebook post! Check out few comments:
