Revealed! Here’s Why Blue Water In Pool Turned Dark Green At Rio Olympics…

Olympics is going on in full swing at Rio de Janeiro. However, there was something weird that happened this Tuesday. Yes, the water of the ‘Diving well’, i.e. the pool where women’s synchronized 10-meter platform competition was going on, turned DARK GREEN, can you imagine?

On the other hand, the adjoining pool for water polo and synchronized swimming had it’s normal blue color. The water was so dark that the bottom of the pool was hardly visible. Tom Daley, the Bronze medal winner for Team GB also tweeted about this drastic change in the color of the pool.

When asked, officials stated that they too didn’t have any clue as to why there was this change in color. However, they claimed that in spite of the pool turning green, it wasn’t dangerous. No one had a solid reason; everyone just made speculations. People started reacting on this through tweets…

Lot of theories were explained on social media right from urine to algae. However, the Olympic committee assured that the pool was very safe and was tested.

Here’s the official tweet from Olympic organisers…

There were even rumors of deliberately changing the color of the pool to green for highlighting the dominant color of Brazilian fag.

Finally, an official statement was released by Rio 2016 Local Organizing Committee in which the reason for the change of color was highlighted as ‘Proliferation of algae’. This was caused mainly due to lack of wind and heat at the venue.

At last everyone got a solid reason! So guys, what do you have to say about this? Do let us know your comments in our comments section below.
