God knows what was Shah Rukh Khan thinking when he made a comment on “growing intolerance” because we feel the best example of growing intolerance was the arrest of actor-comedian Kiku Sharda! Obviously, if a comedian is getting arrested for being comic then tolerance is in danger.
Kiku imitated the Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan in an episode of Kapil Sharma’s Comedy Nights With Kapil and for the same, a complaint was filed against him as this act was a blow to the religious sentiments of Godman’s followers. Kiku was arrested and sent to a 14-day judicial custody, however later he was released on bail.
Several Bollywood actors came out in support of Kiku and took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express their support. However, Rishi Kapoor not only supported Kiku but also made fun of the religious guru and also dared the authorities to arrest him, just have a look at his tweet:
