Airports are the place where the security system is rigid to fight and take control of any sort of emergencies. Well seems like Hyderabad Airport is exceptional and why it lags behind?
Recently, The EK Villian actor Riteish Deshmukh took to his twitter and shared two videos from the Hyderabad Airport where the only way to go in and out is the elevator which stopped working cause of the power cut and the emergency exit of the airport lounge is locked.
Riteish took to his twitter to give us the details about the incident. He wrote, “So we were at the Hyderabad Airport Lounge – suddenly the power goes off- the way in & out is an elevator that shuts down. The only exit door is locked in a chain (In case of FIRE it’s a tragedy waiting to happen)”.

A little kid was seen asking her mother Why the security professional’s are not opening the door?
He further added the security professional refused to unlock the door when he was asked by the passengers, even if it meant the passengers would miss their flights.

After Riteish Deshmukh’s tweet went viral on the social media. Hyderabad airport authorities official twitter handle responded to the tweet of Riteish Deshmukh by saying, “We regret the inconvenience caused. It was a minor technical snag which was resolved immediately. Please be rest assured that our Airport Terminals are safety compliant. In any event of an emergency, the glass doors can be broken. Passenger safety is of the utmost importance to us.”

Yes glass door can be broken but it looks like a strong one. Besides why chain it or block it like this? The snag might be small but can create panic at times. There should be some manual option too.

I have worked for BMS and this is not the right approach.
U need to have electronic / magnetic lock connected to hooter during emergency it can be unlocked centrally or with the emergency break-in panel next to door. Chains seriously?
