The Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma’s responsibilities have increased a lot as he was already appointed as the full time captain of India’s T20I team and now he has also been appointed as the skipper and vice-captain of India’s ODI and test teams, respectively.
While the selectors’ decision of Rohit Sharma replacing Virat Kohli as the skipper of the ODI team was not surprising as appointing one captain for the white ball cricket is kind of obvious decision, the management showed immense faith in Hitman’s capability by appointing him as the vice-captain of the test team in place of Ajinkya Rahane who has been in a very poor form for quite a long time now.
Captaincy is not a new task for Rohit Sharma as he has led team India in the past in the absence of Virat Kohli in the limited overs cricket and he is also the most successful skipper of the IPL as his team Mumbai Indians has won the IPL title 5 times under his leadership.
Recently, Rohit Sharma has given an interview in which he has revealed the reason behind his success and who his biggest strength is. He says that his wife Ritika Sajdeh is his biggest support system as she has always stood like rock with him whether behind him, next to him or in front of him.
Hitman, as his fans call him, further says that Ritika takes care of almost all the responsibilities of home and family because of which he is able to concentrate better on his game. He adds that Ritika also ensures their daughter gets the best of everything in life and it is only because of her that whenever he goes home, he has the liberty of having a good time with his family.
India’s tour to South Africa starts from December 26 in which India and South Africa will clash against each other in 3 ODIs as well as 3 test matches. However, 4 T20Is which were slated to be played under this tour have been rescheduled to take place the next year.
