After the match, Rohit Sharma explained as to why he used record equaling 9 bowlers in this match. He said that when a skipper has five bowling options, he needs to try and create more options as well. He added that in that match, they had nine bowling option and this was the match in which they could try different things. Rohit Sharma further added that his pacers bowled wide Yorkers even when it was not needed but they wanted to do that because as a bowling unit, they wanted to try something different and see what they could achieve with these chances.

As far as the match is concerned, India won the match against Netherlands by 160 runs after posting a huge target of 410/4 in their stipulated 50 overs with the help of brilliant knocks of Shreyas Iyer (128 runs not out) and KL Rahul (102 runs). In response, Netherlands could manage only 250 runs in 48 overs and now India and New Zealand will play the first semi-final at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai, on 15th November.
